Wild Alaskan Salmon is highly nutritious. In fact, it is a superfood! Not only is it an excellent source of high-quality protein, but it is also high in omega-3 fatty acids, as well as numerous vitamins and minerals, as well as fatty acids necessary to optimal health. It is a wonderful food that may support hormone regulation and brain health, as well as help individuals achieve their ideal body weight. Today, I want to focus on some specific benefits that eating Wild Alaskan Salmon provides to help you and your children (next post) feel everyone’s’ best!

Okay, ladies, let’s discuss the “Glow-Up” that eating salmon provides! Between the sun, stress, non-optimal food choices, environmental toxins, and natural aging, it seems the odds are against maintaining that youthful look! Hence, the wide and vast market for anti-aging and protective skincare products. Yet, anti-aging is not just a matter of what individuals put on their skin. Diet plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and youthfulness of the skin. In fact, an Anti-Inflammatory Diet has shown to improve health markers and reduce the inflammation that is believed to be a primary cause of aging. Today, I want to share one dietary tweak that can be a gamechanger for any individual looking for a beauty boost, that being incorporating low mercury fish, such as Wild Alaskan Salmon or other oily fish, such as sardines into their diets on a regular basis.

So, how often should individuals eat fish? Recommendations vary depending on the source, but as a general guideline, the American Heart Association says individuals should strive to eat 3.5 ounces of fish, a minimum of twice per week [1]. Yet, according to Waldbieser (2017), “Eric Rimm, a professor of epidemiology and nutrition and director of cardiovascular epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health,” he says, ‘For most individuals it’s fine to eat fish every day” [2]. The exception relates to eating fish sources high in mercury, which should be restricted, and certainly amongst pregnant women and children [3]. In any case, if you want some quick results, especially if you have a special event coming up, I highly recommend eating these sources of fish every day for a week and then regularly as a part of a varied diet. In my experience, this is a no-fail. I believe you will notice a glow and suppleness to your skin that is undeniable, and that will leave you feeling your best, both for the short and long-term.

What is your plan to incorporate wild salmon or other oily fish into your diet this week, so that you may reap the beauty and health benefits?
